Walk The Walk and More...

Walk The Walk
Tuesday morning, CWM had their annual 'Walk The Walk' Fundraiser. Each student was asked to get 5 sponsors to help raise money by how many laps they could run/walk. This is such a fun event and the kids really get into it!!!

A Few New Traditions

While spending way too much time on Pinterest... I came across some neat ideas for the holidays.
I love that C & G are just about old enough to understand the joys of Christmas.

New Tradition #1
Elf on the Shelf.
I have been debating on starting this or not. Then I came across a blog who gave Eli a little spin that incorporates Jesus. I love her entire post and her take on the commercialization of Christmas and Santa.
I love also the focus on the good list vs. the bad list because Jesus extends his grace to each of us daily as we all fall short.
I DO want my kids to experience the joy of Santa with a Jesus perspective.

New Tradition #2
Christmas Eve Present
On Christmas Eve, The kids get to open one gift. In that gift are new Christmas pajamas (I'm adding house slippers too), a Christmas movie, and a sweet treat to eat while watching the movie (I'm thinking smores),  hot chocolate and a new Christmas Book. All to enjoy before bed.

 New Tradition #3
The Minivan SUV Express
After the kids baths as they are getting ready for bed, surprise them with a ticket to the Minivan SUV Express. Have popcorn ready for them along with their tickets and then off you go out to the minivan SUV.  Paul is the conductor and punches their tickets as they get on board.  Then go drive around town to look at Christmas lights in different neighborhoods.

And speaking of Christmas drawing near... here are some of my fav pictures from pinterest that make my heart pitter patter for the holidays!

Mixed Feelings...

So when I started this post, I was anxiously awaiting the results of the presidential election.
Now that all my pictures are uploaded, we have learned who our president will be for another 4 years.
My heart has sunk and I have a pit in my stomach.
BUT as I look at what my post is really supposed to be about, WE ALL still have SO much to be thankful for. No matter who is president, We will still have our family, friends and Our Savior.
PRAY FOR OUR PRESIDENT.

Today was picture day at school for Charly!

Charly found her dream car in the parking lot at the shop today.
She said, "Mommy, when you get older you can have one of those."
We are installing ISIS at the shop!!!!

We voted today :)
I let Charly press my 'Cast Ballot' button!!!
