{Kids Bathroom Mini Makeover} Sneak Peak

Since there are about to be a few changes around here leading up to baby #2, I've decided to share the 'before and afters' on the blog as a little creative outlet. But don't worry, you will still see just as much Charly as ever!!!!
The first project is turning the guest bathroom into the "kids bathroom". Since we don't know if we will be decorating in pink or blue yet, I've decided on going neutral in the bathroom. And if guest ever do use this bathroom, they won't feel like a 13 year old girl because you know I would LOVE to do an all pink bathroom :)

The main focal piece, the shower curtain we found at Anthropologie...


Handmade print we found on Etsy... just need to find a cute frame!


Vintage baskets also found on Etsy... we are going to use these as shelves above the toilet.


Hopefully these things will hurry and arrive so we can put it all together!!!!!

Charly's New Hobby

In the last few weeks, Charly has taken a great interest in chasing the dogs around and trying to scare them so they will run away from her. Since her little body and voice alone were not doing the trick, she has started picking up large, heavy objects (ie: tennis rackets and the metal lid to the dog food bin) and this seems to be working along with her growl! I finally was able to catch her in action! The last two were taken on my iphone so they are a bit blurry. She was running too fast :)

But without a doubt, by lunch time and dinner time they are all best buds again :)

Charly @ 16months

Today we had Charly's 16 month well check-up. She got a thumbs up. PRAISE GOD. Her stats: weight 50th percentile; length 85th percentile; and head circ 90th percentile! She is growing so big! She had to get a few shots too:( but over all she was an angel!
AND when we got home, Charly had a package waiting just for her! We ( or I ) have been waiting for these babies!!!!! They were the perfect thing to cheer her up after her shots :)

She LOVES them! She wanted to wear them over her footed pajamas tonight! So daddy helped her!

{UPDATE} SHOP NORDSTROM + SHIP FED EX

So we got the call this morning that NORDSTROM is going to send another bag :) YAY!!! However, UPS denied the claim and are not going to reimburse NORDSTROM. So when you ship UPS don't bother paying for insurance b/c apparently they do not abide anyway. SO THE MORAL OF THE STORY IS TO SHIP FED EX OR US POSTAL SERVICE. and i guess my hormonal pregnant hiney is going to have little chat with the UPS man. What ever happened to the Jim Parker's and Troy Deike's of UPS. They are the most rockin' UPS men ever! I guess we will all have to go to Fredericksburg to get their delivery service.

Charly's Chaps

I've been in Dripping Springs for 3years and 7months now. Through the shop I have had the pleasure of getting to know this man, Ernie Self. And until Charly came along, I had no idea how much he LOVES kids. He and Charly have so much fun at the shop and he is SO sweet to her and no doubt has a special place in his heart. And Charly returns the love as well. He showed up last week with these chaps just for her! He is sort of a "jack of all trades"; knife maker and leather maker. He custom makes guitar straps for random people like Ray Wiley Hubbard, Earnest Tubb, Mickey Gilley, Hank Williams Jr. and Johnny Bush. I've been super fortunate to have him make a few gifts for Paul and My Dad as well. He's so talented! These chaps will be a keepsake to Charly forever. THANK YOU, THANK YOU ERNIE.

You Know You Live In The Country When.....

a) The UPS man will no longer drive up to your house to drop packages on your doorstep.
b) The UPS man leaves your package at the front gate. (yes, they know how to get in the gate)
c) The UPS man throws your package OVER the front gate. (This happened today)
and
d) The cows eat the package and the contents.

You can't make this stuff up folks.... I ordered a bag, it was delivered today and eaten by the cows today.

How adorable are these pictures! Last week, Paul took Charly over the Cunningham's who are nursing an orphaned baby deer. SO CUTE! In the last photo C was distracted by a cat that ran across the courtyard!
