Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, the weather outside is frightful. But the fire is so delightful...
Whoa guys, where did this 30 degree weather come from!!!! It's feeling like Christmas!
Before the front hit, today we went to My Oma & Opa's House in New Braunfels for Thanksgiving. Charly had a big time outside gathering pecans with her Great Opa and Opa! Then got to pick some oranges off the tree to bring home with us!
And of course because she is the only Girl Cousin, she 'played football' with her cousin Jacob and Great Oma!
We have so much to be thankful for and oh how blessed we are! We hope you all had a wonderful day with your families!

What Is Thanksgiving?

We LOVE this book of Charly's. Such a great reminder of all we have to be thankful for and that the Lord is who gives it all!

What is Thanksgiving Day about?
Please tell me what it means.
Is it about the yummy food,
Like turkey and green beans?

Is it about the big parade?
We watch on TV.
I love to look at all the floats.
I cheer, "Hooray! Yippee!"

Is it about the football games?
My daddy watches those.
And all the while he munches snacks-
That's why his belly grows.

Is it about my relatives?
They come to eat with us.
They travel from quite far away-
By airplane, car, and bus.

Is it about the Pilgrim-folks
All dressed in black and white?
I dressed up like a Pilgrim once.
Now that was quite a sight!

NO! That's not what Thanksgiving Day
is really all about!

This very special holiday
Is so much more, you see.
It's more that watching grand parades
And football in TV.

It's more than seeing relatives,
And eating food that's great.
It's more than wearing Pilgrim hats.
Here's why we celebrate...

Thanksgiving is a special day
To praise the Lord above.
We take time on this day to say:
"God, thank you for your love!"

"I thank you for my family
And for the food I eat.
I thank you God, for friends and toys
And for my hamster, Pete."

OK, now i get it!
The yummy food and grandparades,
My family and football-
They're great, as long as I give thanks...

To God, who gives them all!

A Little Under The Weather

My Big Monster and Little Monster have been feeling bad the last few days. But they both woke up feeling much better this morning! Here is Charly waking up Dadda today!

Cabela's! We took a family field trip to Buda Tuesday night to see all the animals and Charly LOVED it!



These caribou reminded me of flying reindeer and I got all excited about Christmas! (minus the wolf about to attack them of course!)

In fun with Opening Day of Deer Season Saturday, Charly wore her camo!!!!


Look out boys, Charly has it in her DNA to get a big one! I was just over 3 months pregnant with her when I shot this one... I'm just saying..... :)

And...a little Gage project! We bought these galvanized buckets from Tractor Supply and stuck these monogram decals on them. Easy and super inexpensive. These will be great for toys and storage in his room! Decals from this Etsy site!

Okay, I am just realizing how country this whole post sounds, so just to bring us back... remember these Toms that we got for Charly?

GUESS WHAT.... They come in women sizes now! There is a pair on my front porch. Can't wait to open them tomorrow!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

This evening we rode with Dadda to fill up the protein deer feeder! Getting ready for opening weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Although we had this fun cowgirl costume...


these boots we've literally been waiting 18 months for her to wear...


and Meemaw got her these cute accessories to play with...


Charly was NOT interested in wearing ANY of it :) Nor was Micah impressed with his ADORABLE bat costume!
We were trying for a cute cousin halloween photo and these 2 were all we could get :)
We had a great evening though and Charly loved looking at all the other costumes that came to trick-or-treat at Meemaw & Opa's house.
